Courtneyx0 all you need to do is ask the nurses to put your catheter in after they give you the epidural & you won't feel a thing.

I had an epidural and chose not to have a catheter. I just told them when I had to pee and they put a bedpan into a slot in my bed so I didn't have to get up but didn't need a catheter

Yes when you get the epidural.  Im from nz and that's how it's done here.  If you don't have one you'll **** yourself without knowing.  I was nervous about it to but honestly I didn't feel it because it's done after your numb. No after pain from it either so honestly don't even worry about it :)

With my first it would have been nice to have one especially since i had a epidural. Someone didn't do their job because I ended up peeing all over myself and I had know idea because I couldn't feel anything down there at all. I ended up touching my bed with my hands and yea lol I was embarrassed.

You only get a catheter if you have an epidural.  It's because you wont be able to get up to go to the bathroom & empty your bladder.

If you get an epidural they give you one so you don't pee your self, you'll be numb before they put it in :) don't worry
