Conception date

if conception occurred only 30 days ago, why is the scan saying the foetus is 6 weeks and 3 days?

Because doctors start counting from day one of your LMP. Conception really occurs 2 weeks after day one of LMP. So doctors dates are always 2 weeks ahead of conception date.

The embryo is measured from the first day of your last period. It sounds like the scan is right on target.
