Considering getting Membrane Stripped

NE7
I would love to hear your thoughts. I am due the Monday before Thanksgiving Nov 23rd. My midwife said we can consider stripping my membrane the week prior. Is anyone else considering this or has had it done before?

I had mine done with my 1 st. It was done the morning after my due date and my contractiins began that same night. Had my baby the following morning. Im planning on getting it done again if my baby is not here by his due date.its an uncomfortable doing but it definitely works for me

If stripping your membranes are to work it usually starts labour within 2-3 days

My first labour started on its own 4 days before i was due. I had membrane sweep on due date of my second baby and labour started 2 days later. With my third i got one the day before my due date and another 5 days after due date but neither of these worked. He was born 12 days late, thankfully labour started naturally. Its definately worth a shot. It can leave you very crampy and can bleed slightly. It allows the mucous plug to come away which is very thick and stringy, pink and maybe brown in colour. Good luck x

My due date was yesterday (ug!) And they stripped my membranes on Tuesday hoping to Jumpstart labor and nothing happened lol. I hear for most people though it gets things moving so irs worth a shot! Also you could very likely have your baby before then anyway. I found the actual process very painful and uncomfortable but I'm kind of a big baby about that stuff. It also made me bleed for about a day
