Deli meat, freak out...

I had lunch bought for me at work today and had no other choice than to eat Deli meat, I read to heat it in the microwave (did that for thirty seconds) but I'm just scared because it always says to avoid it. I'm only 5 weeks along. Is it okay, I mean it's too late to say no since I already ate it haha, but just some piece of mind.. I don't plan on eating it regularly.

Yah, just like soft cheeses, it's all about food born illnesses. I read recently that the odds of getting those from cheese and deli meat are extremely slim. The problem is that it does happen occasionally, and randomly. It's better to be safe and heat it up. You know fairly quickly when you get food poisoning though.

In my first pregnancy I was so careful about what I ate and drank and refused to even take tylenol, and all it did was cause unnecessary anxiety.   I'm on my fourth pregancy and I ate unheated turkey subs from subway all the time during my last two pregnancies and again with this pregnancy. In fact, for a while that's all I craved.  It's never been a problem for me.

You are fine.Don't worry. Listeria  is not new when I  had my children  in 06 and 08 It wasn't  even mentioned and I don't recall the amount of cold cut sub I ate. I hate the added fear factors.
