Diabetic

Hi...i am 25weeks and detected diabetic due to heridity...i am on diet these days and under control...i can't control my food carvings..m real foody...will this effect my baby..in case my glucose goes up
..m really worried

Yes..i had Gtt test..it was not normal...but now its in control...i am trying to avoid sweets..i dont have much..i use to only have choclates...but nothing now

If your glucose goes high and you developed diabetes while pregnant, you run the risk of a large birth weight baby and some other complications. I know what the cravings are about - and have a family history of diabetes as well (my dad most recently, as well as grandmother and aunts and uncles on his side.) I guess maybe just keep track of your intake and adjust it (avoid carbs the rest of the day if you are going to indulge in ice cream, etc.) Do they have glucose testing where you are? Here I think its around 24-28wks they make you drink this nasty "juice" and have bloodwork done...
