Expectant Moms who Teach

Are there any expectant moms who are educators and feel gravely overwhelmed? I'm 30+4 with baby number 3 who has single umbilical artery. I have an 11 year old who is a great help and a three and a half year old who is a handful. My job has me stressed to the max; I'm frustrated at work and home. I don't cook, clean, or spend time with my kids like I used too. I'm so exhausted at the end of the day that I find myself confined to the bed. My girls aren't used to that behavior. My fiancé is a figure at provider and help but he works ten hour days. We are both drained. To make matters worse, my Ob/Gyn is dragging her feet taking me off work. Is anyone else experiencing what I'm going through or similar?

I am a special education teacher working with junior high students with severe autism. I'm only 16 weeks and definitely feeling your pain. It is a tiring profession and there is a lot of stress that comes with the job. I hope you can get off work soon and get some time to catch up. I know I'm already slacking on my house chores!

I am not working while pregnant, we just moved out of country, but I used to be a special ed paraprofessional, I feel ya on the work load.  I would put your foot down with the doc. You know your life and body better than they do. Don't let them push you around. I grew up with my mom as a school nurse, and she was always telling my docs what to do, because she knew me better than they did, and she used to be a head nurse for a pediatric hospital, so she has the command and confidence. Be confident and tell them that you need to be done. They don't see you at work and at home with the kids. Doctors are not know it all, infallible people.

I work substituting for aides in special Ed classrooms. I'm 24 weeks and it's really hard. And the teacher does a lot more work.  I don'tknow how you can do it.

I used to teach when i was in my 20's and it was too much for me to handle not being pregnant. Teaching is a tough job especially for a pregnant woman. Standing on your feet a lot and dealing with children is tough. I hope ur doc takes u out soon so u can rest b4 the baby comes.
