Feeling sad

Has anyone ever had and known someone that had a baby that developed an abdomen wall defect called Omphalocele? This is my first time being pregnant and I just got the news that my baby has Omphalocele. I am so scared and have to go back in a week for more testing to see if there is any thing else wrong. I am so sad and wish I could help out my little baby.

They haven't said how big it was. I am only 13 weeks so the baby isnt to big yet. But the growth of it is normal and so it the heart beat. I have just read up on it and scared myself a lot more then I should be. I go back in 2 weeks for them to do an amniocentesis.

In 2012 I got news that my son would be born with it. I delivered via c section and his ended up with skin covering thee hole.  Not to worry tho I'm sure things will run smoothly my son spent some time in the hospital but before you know it your bundle of joy will be home. Did they tell you how big it was?

My niece was born with Omphalocele.  She had to have a few surgeries and she is now a healthy 9 year old girl. Best wishes to you and your baby.

I don't know anyone personally but from what I remember from school baby should be fine after surgery. Will probably need to spend quite a bit of time in the NICU though
