Feels like lightning shooting down my leg...

Hey ladies, I was curious if any of you have experienced this sensation? I'm 36 weeks, and I did a lot of walking around yesterday trying to get Christmas shopping done. I noticed that I'm starting to get these sensations of like a pinched nerve that shoots from the frontal groin area all the way down my inside thigh to my knee. Some of them are rather painful to where I have to stop for about 20-30 seconds or so until I'm able to move without that feeling again. (Or at least where it's at a tolerable level again.) I used to get them before every once in a while...but now they're becoming more frequent especially if I'm up and moving a lot.

When I started having pelvic pains from it they suggested some exercises for stretching that area. (Pelvic thrusts or rolling my hips on an exercise ball, getting on the edge of the bed in a; sorry for the name, doggy -style and arching your back to relive some mussle bunching, flexing your pelvis.) They may have tutorials online on how to do more pelvic stretches and exercises.

I had sciatica pains, and this is very similar, but down the front of my leg. From The leg crease by the front of my pelvic bone and down my inner thigh to my knee. My sciatica would go from the back of my pelvis through my butt and back of my leg.

Yeah, I'm familiar with various symptoms of a clot, but was just curious if anyone else experienced this or found a way to relieve it when it does happen. There's times when it's super painful. I felt bad having to stop sometimes yesterday because my fiance wanted to keep moving. (He doesn't do well with staying still very long) He's also getting very nervous about me going into labor and everything that follows. I had to keep reassuring him yesterday I wasn't in labor...I just kept getting a pinched nerve. Lol.

Likely sciatica. The sciatic nerve gets compressed easily when pregnant and can cause the sharp pain down your leg. Best remedies: don't cross your legs (even at the ankle) this causes it to flare. Warm packs on your butt/upper leg followed by massaging will help with relaxing the nerve and surrounding muscle.  Quickest pain relief: carry a tennis ball with you. Any time that nerve flares sit directly on the tennis ball where the pain is for a minute or two. The pressure and pain will be temporarily relieved. Follow up with hamstring exercise and stretching. Hope that helps.

That happens to me! So painful. They sent me to an ultrasound on my leg to make sure it wasn't a blood clot. It wasn't so they said it is a pinched nerve that the baby is causing. But you should keep an eye that your leg doesn't have any red or swollen areas cause that is a sign of a clot
