First pregnancy and I've gained 30 lbs - only 16 weeks along

I was taking phentermine before I got pregnant and now I'm gaining weight soooo fast w/ during my pregnancy.  That and I'm starving all the time.  Has anyone else gained so much weight this fast?

My mom gained 60 lbs with all three pregnancies and was starving all the time. She had big babies but healthy and natural deliveries. We were all 10 lbs back then. She lost her weight quickly after each one, I think everyone is different and some just gain more. If you're hungry just eat healthy :)

I wouldn't worry about losing the weight after. It'll come off if you exercise semi regularly and eat healthy. I gained 60 lbs with my first,  lost it all after 4 months. 5lbs with my 2nd and lost all but it took a little longer. So far I'm 21 weeks 4 days and have gained 13ish lbs.

You sould talk to your doc to make sure nothing else is causing the extra weight gain. Then you'd know :)

I gained weight pretty quickly myself.  By now I've probably already gained 25-27 lbs and I'm 23wks.  I don't feel so bad about it cuz I don't look fat at all and my Dr isn't concerned so I won't be neither.  I just hope the weight comes off sooner rather than later after baby is born.

I wasn't on diet pill or anything else with my first I gained a ton of weight 60lbs... Always felt like I was starving... Even after eating a lot I felt hungry... In theend, my son was overdue and I ended up with late preeclampsia and a ton of problems definitely talk to doctor about this!!

I would say it is the diet pill.

I gained 40 in 9 mo. Im on my second and only gained 5lbs, I'm 21 weeks. I feel sorry for you. I know my self esteem would deff be in jeopardy. I hope you can loose the weight fast after birth. Breastfeeding will help a lot. I will pray that you don't gain any more else where but that baby is getting all the weight. Good luck dear. ♡ ♡ ♡

I think the phentermine is what caused it, actually you not taking anymore. I'm not saying you were starving yourself or anything but phentermine wasn't making you hungry so understandably you didn't eat, so it's like someone who purposely starves and then starts eating normally and gain it all back then some...I'm nearing my 5th month and haven't gained any, I've lost 13lbs, I started working my second month and eat more on schedule.
