Flu shot

I did not want to get the flu shot. I never ever get the flu (knock on wood) and I'm scared that if I do, I will get sick. My Dr is addoment about getting it. I'm 10.5 weeks and was going to wait until I'm in my 2nd trimester. What are your thoughts??

I was very undecided about the flu shot but I got it on Wednesday and  the whooping cough shot to. I feel perfectly fine and my baby is not affected at all just had ultrasound today and she was fine on that end. My baby has UIGR so she is going to be tiny when she born and maybe need the NICU. My dr. advice me to get them cause if am sick I won't be allowed near the baby cause she will be so fragile. Am 32wks. Do you research on it and do what you feel best for and your baby♡

I didn't get the shot. My doc asked, I said no, and they just made me sign a waiver saying I was offered and refused it. Said I could always come back and change my mind. I am taking vitamin d and magnesium on top of prenatals to keep healthier though, also eating a very balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegs. And always sanitizing and avoiding sick people and places. They can't make you get it. That said.. I have actually had the flu several times in the past, so I know it *****, but I don't feel like putting foreign ingredients in my body is the right thing right now. I am never around small kids so I think my risk is pretty small. (Whenever I've caught it before I was always around peoples snotty kids)

I have never had the flu or flu shot until my pregnancy. My doctor highly suggested getting one to protect the baby so i did. Within the next day or two i came down with a cold, not the flu but a cold on top of being newly pregnant feels like death. I'm not sure if i would do it again.

Never had the flu shot and never will. I've only had the flu once in my life.

The flu shot only protects u from certain strains so you can still get the flu. i did not with my first and have not had one since I was a child. I will not get it with my second.  I am thinking of getting it after birth because she can get antibidies from my breast milk to protect her. I dont ever get the flu shot but I will and have give it to my babies when they enter preschool.

injected flu vaccines only contain dead virus,it can’t infect you. (so getting the vaccine cannot cause you to get the flu).In the end only you can make the choice that you feel is best for yourself but if your Dr is recommending it now, you probably don't have to be worried about waiting until the second trimester.

I got it with my other two healthy pregnancies and ended up with the flu both times. They say it's impossible but it's the only time I've gotten the flu as an adult. I do not plan on getting one with this pregnancy for that reason. My doctor wants me to but no doctor can force it on you so do not let them try!!!!
