food poisoning at 33 weeks - stop eating out?

I ate dinner at a crappy local restaurant last Wednesday night and ended up with diarrhea and vomiting in the hospital on Friday morning. they kept me for 24 hours of observation during which I got 1.5 bottles of IV. I'm fine now.

now everyone is telling me to not eat out anymore. but I know that I will be home bound after my girl is born. now is my only chance.

I really wanna go to Hard Rock Cafe on Friday, because I'm sure their food quality is good. but ppl are telling me my immunity might be low and I shouldn't risk another infection at this stage of my pregnancy (will be 34 weeks on Friday).

I'm eating healthy home cooked food throughout the week. but I really wanna go to a few classy restaurants while I still can.

any advice / opinions?

I think it is fine to continue to eat out. Just be a little more selective with regards to the restaurants you eat at and the things you order.

I say go out and enjoy food :)

Take some probiotics, they'll help with your immune system and also with mild digestive issues, like in a not so fresh meal.

thanks ladies.

well I think they treated me for food poisoning. I was also on antibiotics for 3 days. but I know the place I ate was a bad choice cuz many ppl fall sick eating there. I shud have known better.

I just don't want this incident to prevent me from eating out for the remaining 6 weeks of my pregnancy ... ?

My phone destroys typing. "I say go ahead...".  ... " watch sanitation grades "

There have been bouts of stomach Virus going around everywhere lately. It could have been that unless the hospital actually identified a food poisoning type. If say go ahead and eat out if you want to. Just wqyxh the sanitation grades, don't eat buffet, and use hand sanitizer before eating or touching your food.

And I'm sorry,  that sounds awful!  I would honestly probably still go out.

Did the doctors say it was food poisoning? I only ask because that seems like a very long time between eating there and symptoms.
