Glucose test....

so they came back negative and I'm so relieved! BUT the nurse said my iron level is low. Which seems so weird to me due to the fact that I take an extra iron pill with my prenatals everyday.. I was anemic in high school so my mom recommended to take them. Any ideas on why that could be? Can it damage my baby?

You should not take the iron pill with your prenatal. Your body can only absorb so much iron at a time. Take the iron opposite your prenatal, for example if you take the prenatal in the morning take the iron in the afternoon. My doctor put me on iron pills and told me that's how I should take them.

Are you a tea drinker? I own a tea shop and have known about the dangers of tea consumption and iron intake for years. Let me know if you are and I can give you some recommendations:)

Try eating more foods with iron in them each day.

You probably have a problem with iron absorption, rather than not enough iron in your body...Try taking an extra vit C tablet along with iron - this can help a lot (it certainly raised my iron finally, as I struggled with low iron for years).

I just had my ob appointment this morning and same thing for me.. doctor isn't to worried because its only down alittle and so she didn't give me any iron pills just told me that its very normal to be alittle under And that it wont harm baby. They get more concerned when its way low. I had low low iron with my last two pregnancies. Its normal remember we're making lots of extra blood :) drink apple juice and eat ur greens:)
