Green stool?

I'm 8 weeks a long and recently started taking Rx prenatal vitamins. For the past week I've been experiencing loose dark green stool accompanied by a stomach ache. I changed up my diet a little as well eating more green veggies.  Is this normal?

yeah, I KNOW RIGHT?! so my OB says, "well, this baby may help you learn to start swallowing them again if you have to.."

I said HA! with all due respect, I'll chew on a piece of iron before I swallow a pill filled with it!! lol she thinks I'm joking.. it's not going to happen!!

ohhh no, I don't know what I'd do!! I choked on a pill once when I was in high school, my senior year I think, I was 17.. I was home alone with my mama (my daddy was at work 45 min. away) and I decided to take a sinus pill that I'd taken 1,000 before so I could go to bed.. wasn't feeling well.

well, it just didn't go down the right way & it got stuck in my throat for about 15-20 min. that's how long it took our pathetic ambulance to get there.. as soon as they walked in it slid down. I'm like yeah, go figure, it dissolved enough to slide down after this long!!!!!! lol I had blood everywhere, it tore my throat up.. plus I had my finger down my throat trying to push it down.. ever since then I have a mind-block.. I just CAN'T force myself to do it!! lol

Iron can also get into any food cooked in a cast iron fry pan. Also most breakfast cereals are fortified, like cheerios.

I googled for you. Lol

The iron in food comes from two sources: animals and plants. Iron from animal sources is known as heme iron and is found in various meats and fish. Iron from plants is known as nonheme iron, and is found in certain vegetables and in iron-fortified foods such as breakfast cereals. Heme iron is better absorbed by the body than nonheme iron. The following foods are good sources of heme iron (from animal sources):
Chicken liver
Oysters
Clams
Beef liver
Beef (chuck roast, lean ground beef)
Turkey leg
Tuna
Eggs
Shrimp
Leg of lamb
The following foods are good sources of nonheme iron (from plants):
Raisin bran (enriched)
Instant oatmeal
Beans (kidney, lima, Navy)
Tofu
Lentils
Molasses
Spinach
Whole wheat bread
Peanut butter
Brown rice
Try to combine nonheme iron foods with vitamin C (for example, a glass of orange juice) to increase absorption of iron.Talk to your health care provider to determine how much iron you need every day.

Leafy greens can cause loose green stool. I have IBS and used to get that every time I ate salad. Taking fiber helps, like metaucil. Iron can also make poop green, as can blue food coloring.
Pregnancy=weird poop.

how in the world did I miss that.. I just looked over my gummies too. I purposely made sure they had DHA & folic acid, but HOW did I miss that they didn't have iron in them?!!!

what are some iron-rich foods you eat? I can NOT and will NOT swallow pills, and I told my OB I only take liquid medications, and she made the statement, "well, if you ever need something like iron I may not be able to give you a liquid or chewable pill.."

soooo, I need to start eating something with iron before she even THINKS about it!!!! lol I thought these had iron in them!!! I'm so upset.. "/

Sometimes the prescription prenatals can be hard on your stomach... if it continues you can always change the prenatals... with my first pregnancy I couldnt take the pills because the iron was difficult on my stomach... my sister had the same problem and our doctor recommended the Flintstone children vitamins... this time I take the gummy prenatals and havent had problems with them being too harsh on my stomach (only problem is remembering to take them everyday)... so I do the gummies and eat more foods with iron (since they don't have iron)
