Group B Strep

Has anyone tested positive for Group B Strep (GBS) with a previous pregnancy? What was the outcome for baby?
Has anyone been diagnosed with GBS this pregnancy? What is your plan to protect baby? Thanks for any input!

Just make sure you have a good probiotic in you and that ur taking before and after giving birth antibiotics destroy all bacteria in your body even the good ones.

Littlemiracle15 I'm allergic to penicillin also an they still have stuff they can give you. An yes I breastfeed right after it was fine. An my daughter was super healthy. I delivered 100% natural. The vaginal delivery is still safe with it.

Thank you so much for all the input ladies. I am a ftm and scared for my little miracles safety! This is very reassuring. I had hoped for a natural birth, but worried whether c-section would be safer with GBS.  Did any of you breastfeed right after delivering? I wasn't sure how that would work with the IV antibiotics. I'm allergic to penicillian so I'm not sure what they will give me. Thanks!

I had it with my first baby and just had 2 bags of antibiotics in an IV. my water broke but I wasn't having contractions so they had to induce me. They have me a bag before they started petocin. My baby was perfectly healthy and we didn't have to stay any extra time. I was SO nervous when I found out I had it that it was going to be dangerous for baby but they said it's very common and baby would be fine. And he was!

I gave birth three weeks ago and they only gave me like 2 or 3 bags of antibiotics with the iv. You only feel a burning sensation if they put the iv running fast but you will be fine. I didn't stayed an extra day because everything was fine and they also said this is very normal so don't over think it. It was my first child btw.

I tested positive with my first 12 years ago. Treatment is IV antibiotics which are given during labor. We stayed an extra day just for observation. She were both just fine. Tested negative this time.
