Healthy Eating

First time mom to be here currently at 5 wks... I tried googling this question, needless to say I didn't get very far.  Can anyone provide a website or book with recipes for expectant mothers?  As I said I tried google but only found what foods moms to be should eat.

Thanks in advance!!

There aren't specific things to eat while pregnant,  just stuff to avoid, limit and be careful with. Make sure to take prenatal vitamins and a regular healthy diet and you and baby should be good. Drink lots of water. Congratulations!

Look up "the full plate diet" it's really NOT a diet, but healthy eating. That's what I do, all it is, is a high fiber diet eating lots of whole grains (brown rice, wheat bread, oatmeal) fruits, vegetables and water.

I echo that there are things to avoid and just try to snack on / add into your diet fruits and veggies wherever possible!!!  Things to avoid.... raw /uncooked meats or fish,  deli cold cuts, mousse , custard, blue cheese and anything dairy that is not Pasteurized. ...  some large fish have high mercury levels but a lot of fish are fine. Watch out for mayo and foods made with mayo (particularly potato and macaroni and whatever salads...especially if it is out at a bbq).

Those were the major things I avoided.  I love snacking on cheerios.   Not the best thing on earth but not so bad.  Make sure you get iron too!!!  Watch out for meat cooking too.  No more medium rare for a while!  And no alcohol.   There js still a lot of good stuff to eat though! Good luck and dont have any sugar or fruits for like a week before your glucose tolerance test!!  :)  ♡☆♡☆♡

Get on a healthy diet. That's it. What is healthy for a pregnant person is the same diet as a non pregnant person would eat if they want to have a healthy life. Just during pregnancy no raw food deli n a few other things. Limit fish also. But other than that low fat n minimal junk food. Stick with chicken n salads. Fruits n white rice etc.
