Heart Arrhythmia

I went  for my initial ultrasound at seven weeks six days and the doctor detected and your regular heartbeat.  The heart rate was 127 and went between 127 and 150. He told me that because of this arrhythmia I would miscarry probably within the week. I went back for days later at eight weeks three days and the heart rate was 179 and the babies growth perfect. I went back again at eight weeks six days anf again the heart rate was 181 with typical growth.  The doctor had initially mentioned that I would probably miscarry because of a chromosomal abnormality. Now I am confused and worried that there could still be a chromosomal problem.  Does anyone have any experience with this? I am really scared.

Thank you BabyES13.  Did your doctor recommend chromosomal testing? Was your baby's heart rate arrhythmic and low or just low?

It was low due to the fact that it was still early in the pregnancy. I had the same problem and that's mm what my obgyn told me. At 8-15 weeks my babies heart beat was super high like that as well. I am now almost 30 weeks I'm having a little girl an ever since at about 23-24 weeks it went down to the 130's. So no don't over stress yourself or worry to much.

In week twelve you can ask for genetic testing. I have a few family members with autism and I, myself, have a genetic blood mutation that can be passed depending on chromosomes from the father. In these genetic blood tests they can tell you the sex of your beautiful baby and they can also see if the baby will be born with certain chromosomal issues. I would recommend seeing a different doctor as well. The one you are seeing sounds like they have a terrible manner of discussing concerns and you being pregnant, need a doctor that is informative and has an understanding. I hope this helps. I have some concerns of my own and I am getting the tests done on Monday.

I just realized that first sentence didn't make sense! I meant "the doctor detected an irregular heartbeat."
Thanks for the input.

An arythmia doesn't automatically mean there's a chromosomal abnormality.

I think your doctor jumped the gun. But you better ask him
