I have hoooooorible heartburn. And tums is the only thing that works for me. Unfortunately I was out yesterday and didn't sleep at all last night.  So my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Eating and drinking before bed can also make reflux worse so be aware of that.

Oh, and sugar or greasy fatty foods can cause it too.

Well acid reflux is probably what is causing you pain. Don't eat for a few hours before bed. Sleep with your head slightly more elevated. No tomatoes, citrus, onions, garlic, caffeine, chocolate, or spicy or you'll feel it. Water when you have reflux can make it worse as it just adds more fluid to the esophagus. If all fails talk to the doc about acid blockers that are safe for pregnancy.

I have awful heart burn but I generally find a nice cool glass of milk usually soothes it. I tried gaviscon but that made me puke, Rennie is also good. Haven't tried Tums. Have you reviewed your diet to see what's causing it?? I usually find its something spicy I have eaten or anything greasy.

I have acid reflux and didn't want to take zantac with my first pregnancy so I was using a bottle of tums a day! Tums is great for the calcium but really ***** for persistent heartburn/reflux. Zantac stopped working for me and I've been on prilosec for a while now. Just one a day. Over the counter is more expensive than zantac but works better in my opinion.

I had it and started with tums, then dr told me to try zantec which worked for a few weeks then stopped working so then she told me to try prilosec which has been good for a while now. Ask your dr 1st to be sure, because they may suggest different kinds or something.
