Almost everything you need is provided for your baby in the hospital. All you need are a couple of outfits for baby and yourself. An extra blanket, hat, socks if you choose and your car seat. The less you have to keep up with, the better.
For your baby make sure you have a pack of nappies and some cotton wool balls for cleaning/washing etc... about 3 vests and 3 all in ones... hats a mits and a coming home outfit.
For you make sure you have some comfy clothes and slippers as well. X
I'm 3 weeks post partum, so I'll just tell you what I actually used. For my son all I brought was a blanket and outfit for him to go home in, along with the car seat. For me I stayed in the hospital gown the whole time (I had a C section) and brought a robe from home to cover the back when I walked the halls. I brought travel size shower stuff along with my toothbrush and tooth paste. Also a brush or make up if you feel like getting ready. Also clothes to leave the hospital in. I used the hospitals big pads because I was bleeding alot, so it was much easier. Also, contacts or glasses.
