It started January 26, 2015 around about 12am I was at my boyfriends house we had just got done watching a Netflix movie (and having intercourse :)) Afterwards while laying there and during i was contracting I didnt think much of it because i had just went to the dr. the week before and hadnt made any progress so i just took them as braxton hicks. As I was about to try to get up and go home they started to get much worse and i couldnt really talk through them (my bf didnt want me to drive home while having contractions but i had to explain to him if i were to go into home is where i would be more comfortable my hospital bag is there and my mom could probably get me to the hospital faster) So i drive home i had about 2 contractions on the way there I get home take a shower and went to bed for 3 hours the pain was so bad i woke up when i eased the pain a little i went back to sleep only to wake up after another 3 hours. This time i couldnt take it i tried walking arounf the house but couldnt so finally i went to go wake my mom up at about 6:15am crying in pain telling her we need to get to the hospital. So we both get dressed and head to Triage (where i had already been exactly a week ago because i thought i had a slow water leak) they check me in i put on a gown pee in the cup and go to the bed where there are waiting to hook me up to the monitors. First they monitored the contractions for about 30 minutes then she came back in and checked me I had went from 1cm to 3 in a few days, she asked if i wanted a epidural i opted not to get it yet. So they called my OB and took me upstairs. Once i got upstairs my pain level shot up i immediately asked for the epidural lol. So i go through a few more contractions before the anesthesiologist comes crying and all. i get the epidural the give me some fluid because i had lost too much amniotic fluid. after a while my daughters heart started to slow so i had to lay on my sides the kneel on the bed and finally it went back to normal. The nurses were coming in to check on me every now and then i had went from 3cm to 5cm in a hour or so. Still breathing gettin gthrough contractions. Then my OB comes in checks me and ive went from 5cm to 8cm. Some where in that time he broe my water and the contration were in serious mode. The nurse asks if im ready to push. And it begins... Once she started to crown the nurse let me touch her hair I push for about 45 minutes then at 3:04pm i have my darling peanut Dakota De'ion Miles 6lbs. 12oz. 22.5 in length. She wasnt that dirty so they let me hold her and she held her head up and looked right at me (heart melts) so they took her cleaned her of and returned her to me for skin to skin, but she was hungry and i was brestfeeding (here goes putting those classes to use) i thought it wouldbe difficult but she just latched on and got her eat on!!

With my first, my waterbroke when I was using the restroom.  I called my mom, because my husband was out of town until the next day... I was going to be induced the  following day when he got home.  My waterbroke at 2:30 am, I delievered him right before noon.

With my 2nd, got induced... thought they would send me home, but they had me stay and wait until I delievered her just before 5pm.  I went in at 7 am.

I don't recall having any BH contractions with either, or loosing my mucus plug.  I'm now 30 weeks with #3, I couldn't tell you whether or not I've felt any BH contractions... either way, I'm hoping I can get induced, was much easier than having my water break at home and having to deal with real contractions on the way to the hospital. LOL

My first child a daughter was 2 days early I did know that it was labour pain no one to tell me so it feel like menses cramp on lower abdomen at first I tot I was having an upset stomach but then kept on going to the restroom but nothing came out then about few hours later I realized that this is it, it could be a labour pain, my cervix don't want to 'open' but there was a 2 mins contractions worst I wasn't in relaxing mood finally after which  the doctor convince my husband to the 'laughing' gas as he said that chaces for me to have a normal delivery is better 24 hours later  she was born (from the time my first contraction), my second child a boy was 10 days late, I knew the trick - the laughing gas I suck it for 2 hours or so he was born on and my third child was born only after 1.5 hrs  of labour. All my children was delivered only after the doctors broke the water bag for me...

i just want to know how ladies do it in countries where they dont have epi's? or in the 40's? champs i tell you !  i went on bedrest my first day of the 8th month of pg. i layed there and it sucked, i got big, and the meds they give you make your heart race. at 36 weeks i was ok to stop the meds, he was fine to come out. but he didnt want to, it was the 4th of july weekend. the next weekend, at 37 weeks at 5:17 am i woke up with a REAL contraction. the ex dh said "oh go back to bed, these things take all day" @ss!! lol. so i started laundry and showered and shaved. then my water broke at 6 30 am. so after i convinced him the dr wanted us to go, he got up , stopped for gas and a quick snack (oh men!) and we got in. contractions were 3-4 mn apart, and after about 4 hours i got my epi ( i love my anesth!!!!) i couldnt feel a thing. could have been working against me though. at 3 20 pm i started pushing. i did that for sev hours. they used the vac on his head, the dr flew across the room, and my contractions were one on top of each other before a break, his little hb dropped. he was face up too. so a c section it was. not bad, we all joked and laughed and had fun. they gave me nitrous because of a cramp in my shoulder blade. maybe that was why i enjoyed it lol. well out came a beautiful 8 pound 7 oz baby!! he is still a big kid. almost 5 ft at 8 yrs old and almost in a size 7 mans shoe!

I had to be induced with both of my pregnancies, although both were at 39 weeks, just because I begged my dr to induce me early because I was so miserable.  Both of the inductions took about five hours from start to finish, and I only pushed ten minutes with both babies, one was 8.2 and the other 8.15, so that was a miracle.  I guess I'll never experience what it was like going into labor on my own :) just wanted you to know that inductions are often just as healthy as going on your own, so it's not the end of the world if that's what happens.

Going into labour? Really boring start. Went to bed, was 10 days overdue, tried to find a bearable sleeping position, thought I might be the first one to be pregnant forever, turned around at 4 in the morning and "popppp" woke up to an internal burst. Thought "I can not believe this, now my big baby has broken my pelvic bone but why does it not hurt?" Then a mighty warm gush soaked the bed and was I ever awake. I felt excited but right away contractions started and would not stop for another 14 hours. My son was born face up, 9 pounds, no tear, both he and I had one blood shot eye from all the pushing. I looked at him and said: "I am mama. You are stuck with me now. You are more than I could ever have wished for." Wishing you a really great labour and delivery and new beginnings!

My doctors were nervous about me for reasons unimportant to my labor story, so they kept doing non-stress tests that would go really long, about every other day I was in the hospital being monitored and sometimes given pitocin to give me "test contractions" that I think were largely to try to have labor begin (though they weren't saying that out loud).  At 37 weeks they gave me a different drug in hopes of inducing labor and I had contractions every two or three minutes for about 13 hours without painkillers.  By the time labor started at week 39 + 1 day, I was not in the mood to turn down any painkiller help.  Contractions started one morning, and I could tell it was the real thing, but it was only once an hour.  I kept my mind on it all day and just started to get ready, packing my suitcase and all.  Next morning I got into the bath, and whooosh, out jetted masses of water, it was obviously my amniotic sac breaking.  The fluid was so copious that I was even able to get out of the tub and catch some in a jar, in case my doctor wanted to see the little fragments of vernix in it or anything.  (For the record, no doctor or nurse I subsequently saw was remotely interested in looking at it.)  I knew I didn't need to race to the hospital even though the sac had broken, plus I knew from experience that they would hook me up to those damn monitors if I did, but after a couple of hours I did call Labor & Delivery to ask how long before I should come in.  The nurse said "Your sac broke?  COME IN NOW!"  They were being cautious.  Arrived at the hospital at about 2:30 pm and had contractions for a while, being dilated to 4 cm by about 6:30 pm (so they were willing to give me an epidural).  Got the epidural and kept having contractions, was fully dilated by about 3:00 am.  Started pushing then, and pushed until 10:30 am, when the doctor told me we needed a new plan because it was just taking too long.  So we went into the little operating room they have right at Labor & Delivery, and tried a forceps delivery.  Four pushes (one of which popped a blood vessel in my eye) and the doc said, "Well, the baby is moving with each push, but not enough.  I'm going to call it.  We're doing a c-section."  The real hero was the anasthesiologist, who got my epidural perfectly in the first place and then got me the stepped-up amount I would need for the c-section in a really short time.  I was concerned about having no painkiller for like 20 minutes at that forceps try, but he was right there and I didn't feel the slightest pain with the c-section.  My dh was scared for the baby because he came out with fluid filled lungs, but without the baby having gone all through the birth canal it was not surprising to the doctors that he would not have neatly emptied lungs all ready for that first breath.  So the nursery team (who was right there) suctioned the baby, and he gave a weak little cry, and they moved him fast to the nursery and subsequently he breathed fine and got a good Apgar rating and all that.

He's a lovely healthy boy, 13-plus pounds now at about two months and three weeks.  In fact, I hear him crying now (dh has him upstairs getting ready for bed), that's my page to come nurse.

you don't want to hear the details of mine. Believe me. Let me just say with my 1st (9lbs, 4 days early), labor was 13 hrs, another 3 hrs of pushing. My 2nd was 47 1/2 straight hours, pushed 2ce. He just slid on out, all 8 1/2 lbs of him (1 month early). Just waiting to see what #3 has in store for me....

I was getting ready to head to school (I'm a teacher) and decided that one last bathroom trip might be a good idea. I was 37 1/2 weeks or so, and was shocked when my water broke on the toilet. I panicked just a little as I had no sub plans made, and it was officially past the time we're supposed to call in--my poor dean of students was just thrilled to get the call, "my water just broke--I think....maybe..." I called my husband who generously offerred to meet the at the hospital~ I'm almost sure I very calmly told him to rethink that plan. THen he proceed to try to make me laugh while we strolled to the hospital entrance and of course I'm imagining a snail trail of amniotic fluid I must be leaking during the walk. I was so annoyed with him! When my midwife arrived, I was dialated to 4cm, but she got an odd look on her face and grabbed a DR I had not seen before who also proceeded to check my out and they came to the concensus that I had a foot in my birth canal. Without any prior information on this, my son was a footling breech baby and I was quickly drugged and into the operating room for an emergency C-section. THis time around, the strange DR is my current OB and I decided to cut out the middle man. :) I am currently waiting at 29 weeks to fight the VBAC battle and at least attempt to endure a trial of labor as a c-section was completely out of my realm of possibility when I did this the first time. I had a very difficult time with the emotions of it because I just never thought it would be me..of course I've learned with the c-section and an ectopic pregnancy prior to this successful one, that it can and maybe will be me and I need to think of ALL the posibilities, not just the ones I think I want. Oh well, what an adventure! And of course all worth it in the end, no matter what means they take to get here!

It was exactly three weeks before my due date.  DH was out of town as we had no clue that my water's about to break.  It was Saturday, 8:56 pm and I was EXHAUSTED and didn't feel like doing anything so I just slept all day, ate and watched TV (ahhh, the days when I could actually watch TV).  At 8:56 I lost my mucus plug and out came out my water gushing out.  I freaked out since I was at home alone and I don't have anyone living nearby but my elderly in-laws who don't drive.  So, I called DH saying that my water broke, he though I was joking (since I wasn't due for another three weeks) but after me screaming at him "get your a** here ASAP" he kinda figured I was in no mood to joke.  I called his friend and he drove me to the hospital and DH followed us there.  Everyone gave me a stare when I kept telling the nurses that the friend is not the father of the baby.  One goes "I don't even want to know" jokingly.  I was like "c'mon, he's a friend" and she goes "uh huh" sarcastically but I was too excited I was having my baby :)  Finally, Dh arrived and they transferred me to LDR.  I was having a good time talking to Dh before I started having really hard contractions.  I got my epidural and pitocin (since the contractions were not regular) and life was good :)  At 7:50 am on sunday, we had our little (and I mean little weighing at 5.7 lbs) DD in our arms.  We were in heaven :)

I was 2 days past due date, my dh and I decided that we needed to take our minds off of when labor was gonna start.  We went to the movies and half way through I started having contractions after about 5 really good ones they went away.  we went home and he decided he was going out since nothing was happening and I was so tired,(i never had nesting) anyway about 1 am I was uncomfortable and dh was still out finally at 2 am i called him home(I was pissed he was out that late) he didnt get home until 3 am, he asked if I was ready to go in, I wasnt sure if these were going to stop too so I let him pass out, finally at 5 am they were unbearable and I had to try get him up, he was still tipsy and had the balls to say "this better be real" the madder I got the harder the contractions were.  anyway we got to hospital where my contractions where 2 minutes apart and was admitted.

he slept while I tried holding out from the epidural, by 9 am I was begging for epidural and we called our parents and by noon I felt so much pain and pressure I thought for sure I wasnt going to make it through childbirth.  The anesth. was going to come top me off but the nurse checked me first she said nope your 9 cm you wanna push, my first thought was I have unbearable in my crotch and you want me to push??!!!

my mom and three sisters walked in at 12:30 while I was practice pushing, dr walked in about 10 minutes later and my nurse was just cheery, "the reason you feel so much pressure is because baby's looking up" I could have kicked her in the face, my son Carter Trust was born 12:59 pm sunny side up giving me a 4th degree tear and it took 2 doctors to sew me up!!! he is almost 2, and we are expecting a daughter on June 14, good luck to you, I hope your birth is great

I know what you're going through. I went 3 days late with my DD. My ob wasn't going to induce me.
It was 4:30 in the morning and I couldn't sleep at all that night. I stood up out of bed to go to the bathroom and I felt a gush, it was a gross feeling but a good feeling, my water broke. We rushed to the hospital and had her at 5:35 pm. It was a long labor that didn't progress so I had a csection due to my pelvis being too small. I didn't expect that to happen and I didn't even really read about csections. The labor part before my csection wasn't hard really. The epidural is great and I didn't feel any real contractions. I really enjoyed the epidural!!!
I hope you have the baby soon I know that it's frustrating. I tried everything to go into labor. I don't know if it worked but I bd with my dh that night.
I hope you have a great labor.

Well with my first baby I was 40 weeks. I totaly understand how you feel!! I did everything I could think of to get contractions going. finaly ended up trying sex again and it finaly worked! The next morning I started having contractions. I called DH and my mom. My mom came down to my house with me while I was in the first stages. We watched Father of the Bride. About 2 hours later I went to the hospital. I was in labor for 19 hours. I had stadol all through the labor to help with the pain. I was in labor for 19 hours and pushed just twice. At first the nurse had me push before the Dr. came in, but DD head started coming out. She told me not to push. I actualy had to pant like a dog to keep from pushing! LOL But DD wanted out! She FLEW out before the Dr. was able to get into the room. My dad, who was in the hall waiting, told me that the Dr. was running down the hall. He only ended up delivering the placenta and stitching me up. I tore REALLY bad. I'm still not normal down there from that!
My second was 2 years later. I did that one all naturaly, no pain med or anything. (why I dont know!! lol) That was pretty much the typical labor. But I did watch Father of the Bride part one and two during labor.
Now my 3rd,(Out of tradition I watched Father of the bride one and two also)  4 years later, that one was bad. I was 39 weeks. It was SO hot outside. I was misserable and huge! I remember going outside at night and walking and walking trying to get labor started. The Dr. had stripped my membranes with that one. I finaly went into labor on fathers day.(cool timing huh!)  DH loved that.  I started getting contractions at 5:30 am. They came on hard and strong and really close together. I was worried that I wouldn't make it to the hospital. (we lived 40 min from hosptial) But we packed up and went to the hospital. They checked me and I was only a 2. But the contractions were very close together. Every 2-4 min. They sent me home and told me to come back in a few hours. We decided to stay with my parents untill I had the baby. We didn't want to make that drive again. (parents live in same town as I gave birth) I was in labor for  3 days. I didn't sleep and was hard to eat. I was SO tired and didn't feel like I could make it through delivery. I don't know why they didn't just keep me in the hospital sinse I was in so much pain! It ended up being my DD was turned the wrong way and that was making labor really slow. So at about 4:00am  I couldn't take the pain anymore and demanded that they check me in and give me somehting. It had been almost 3 days. So I got settled in to the hospital, got an epidural and 10 min later I was pushing. I pushed 4 times and she was out. That delivery was the hardest (physicaly) thing I have ever done!  Now with my 4th baby I had a planned C-section. But I did go into labor with that one at 7 months and was put on bedrest and medication.
sorry this is so long!
I'm sure you will have that little one soon! I know how horrible it is to be 9 months! How tiring it is!
Good luck and I hope you have a fast easy delivery!

Hmm with my 1st daughter I had shooting pains in my thighs (sex was the catalyst i think)... was told to go in even though the doctor never heard of that happening for labor before... found out my contractions were 2 minutes apart... and she was born 9 hours later after back labor.

With the 2nd daughter... hmmm, I drank raspberry tea on Thursday (I tried everything, walking mowing the lawn, washing the car, sex...).  My contractions started that night 15 min apart, Friday they were 10 min apart, Saturday 5 min apart... got some kind of cervical gel, and pitocin... and after some 36 hours of horrible back labor and complications she was born Sunday night.

I never went in to labor. :( sorry, that's probably not what you want to hear about!

My DD was 6 days overdue and I sprang a SLOOOOW leak of amniotic fluid so they gave me petocin. 28 hours later I was dialated (sp?) to a whole 2, so I got an emergency c-section. Then my boys were both planned c-sections, so no labor there either...

I'm sure you've heard all the advice you care to hear, but here's some more anyway. Have sex (with lots of nipple action) and walk, walk, walk!
