I did I've meds don't remember which one but it helped me. I got in a nap before it was time. It took the edge off of the pain.so I had no problems. Good luck. I have never had a epidural

At least I'm not the only one with that side effect on stadol. I understand now why you can't have an epidural it is risky. But ya maybe do research on that other one fentenyl? But the stadol doesn't touch contractions like kaismom0616 said.  Just made me really out of it and made me feel unable to perform If you know what I mean. Hope this helps

I got the stadol too, didn't help with contractions, just felt drunk & like I couldn't control my eyes. It was weird.

@Klipscomb i cant do epidural because i have scoliosis and my Dr said it would be to risky besides it also being hard to find the right spot on my spine so he said ge wont give me the epidural shot only the i.v meds but as i can see thats not a so good idea either i think i would just panic with it

I did this drug called stayadol not spelled right but spelt how it sounds. It was not good for me I did 2 doses in an 8 hr period I think and it made me so sick it was Like being blackout drunk and dizzy I couldn't sleep because I thought I was going to stop breathing (I have a form of sleep apnea) and I feel that it affected my bodies ability to be ready for labor made me really groggy.  Long story short I will not be doing it with this one. These are only my experience with it. I like to be present and not having any alcohol for 38 weeks then feeling mega trashed was terrible I couldn't even talk straight.  Never again!  Only epidural for me this round.  Why is it not an option for you?  What about spinal tap?
