In labour?

Hi ladies,
Im 39+6 and had a sweep this morning. Turns out at my sweep I was already 3cm dilated.
Midwife has said just go home and see what happens but could still be a few days until anything happens.
Since getting home I've had constant cramps. Is this the start of it all?
Has anyone had a similar experience? Or after having a sweep how long until you went into labour?
Thanks, Hayley x

Cramping is very normal after a sweep. If you are looking to induce naturally, try walking around your neighborhood...just a few blocks may do the trick. Good luck! :-)

It's mainly at the bottom at the moment. I also lost my mucus plug this afternoon so I am guessing everything is moving in the right direction - I just have to be patient! Thank you!

It could be labor. I haven't had a sweep. I have heard that you may experience cramping and discomfort after. Is the cramping at the top of your stomach or the bottom? Contractions start at the top of your uterus and move down. Your stomach will also feel hard during contractions.

The cramping is likely due to the sweep.
