Induction Story

Oliver David was born Feb 4th at 6:20 am! 7lb 1oz and 20 inches! We are so in love.

Dr induced me at 39 weeks due to gestational hypertension. We're getting ready to leave the hospital today, we've been here since Monday!

Monday at 9 pm we showed up for the induction. Cervidil was placed and we waited 12 hours for labor to start. Only tiny contractions, very erratic at that point so they moved onto pitocin through my iv.

Was on the pitocin drip from Tuesday 11am until wed at 6 am. Took about 5 hours for contractions to become regular, and extremely intense I might add lol! Got my epidural around 7pm, when I was 6cm. Unfortunately, I was unable to dilate past 6 cm. Sooooo I was told I needed a c section after laboring for 16+ hours. I was pretty upset.

Was prepped for the c section within 20 min of the dr deciding I needed one. Which included a free shave job down below :D! They use your epidural to numb you for the procedure, but I was still feeling pain after they have the meds. So I wad placed under anesthesia during the procedure.

Woke up in A LOT of pain. And was totally confused as to who I was or where I was at. After my husband talked to me for a few minutes, I remembered! My baby :)))) born totally healthy and I was able to breast feed within 20 min of waking up.

Would not choose to have my baby this way again (obviously). I don't think he was entirely ready to leave the womb yet considering he was my first child and I wad only 39 weeks. But I'm so in love and he was worth every ounce of pain I endured!

Thank you ladies for all your support throughout my pregnancy! Will definitely come back next time I'm pregnant.
