I'd be more terrified of a c section! Plus when you push your baby out it helps them get rid of anything in their lungs So it's better for them. Goodluck: -)

Thanks guys,i really appreciate . I jst am so terrified of a natural birth that i opted for a c-section. I will have all the help i need afterwards because i have a nanny and will be at my moms for some few weeks...But il think deeper abt all this,i appreciate your thoughts on this...

I didn't know you could choose which way you wanted to deliver. I delivered my first two kids natural. This will be my second c-section but not by choice. My first was an emergency c-section. I would definitely choose natural if I could. A c-section is way more painful getting over.

I would def avoid csec i didnt even think they would do csec unless it was absolutely necessary....my sis had to have csec with all 4 of hers bc her pelvic wouldnt dialate n i had vaginal with all 3 of mine her recovery was much much worse than mine n i was able to get epidural every time!! However it is true that if u wait till ur dialated too far the epidural may not kick in soon enough...with my last one labor went super fast n i didnt get epidural till i was a 9 n it didnt kick in till after i had him!!

I'm having a vbac. I've had both my first was a  vaginal and.my last was a.c section. I do not recommend a c section ever!!!! it is the worst thing youll ever feel. The only was you can't get a epidural is if your at 8 centimeters when you arrive.  your doctor shouldn't push a c section on you bc it's easier on them. Think about your next babies if you want alot you'll need alot of surgeries.

I would take a c section over natural any day twice a day. I had a c section at 7pm and was up and moving by 5 am. On pain meds, yes. But I'd rather take that than being in labor for 30 hours, which I was, tearing my crotch and all other fun things. My recovery was next to none, and I'm having another section in April.

Recovery after vaginal birth is waaaaay shorter than after a csec. Unless you have someone to help with the baby 24/7 for the first 2 weeks (and that's the best case scenario!), i would stay well away from csec. I'm terrified of having to go through an emergency csec and coping with the major discomfort afterwards. My partner can't take unplanned time off so I'd be on my own :(

Depending on where the anesthesiologist is and if he's busy or not you may not be able to get it when you want it and at a certain point in your labor it's no longer an option but I also agree with the above comments. C section is major surgery and there can be many complications if you are capable of doing it naturally why would you opt for surgery?

Epidural doesn't always make labor last longer.. In my case, because I was induced and fighting the epidural, my body was in so much pain and stress it was stopping me from progressing. I get the epidural, relaxed and started progressing fast.

I am alittle confused why would you opt for a c-section if your completely capable of a vaginal delivery.  i agree with the comment above i wouldn't take the risks and complications of a c-section unless absolutely necessary. and i don't think its very ethical of doctor to push for one either if his or jer patient doesn't need one because its convenient for them. as for the epidural again the timing as mentioned above is important,  so if you know you want one regardless of how the labour goes just ask for it immediately and i dont think they could say no to you.

If at all possible avoid a c section. It is a major surgery.

You cant get an epidural when your past 8cm in florida and honestly im so glad my doctor doesnt do epidural it actually makes labor last longer and since you can't feel the contractions you have a bigger chance of tearing and dont know exactly when to push but of course everyone is different
