Labor Stories Before & During!

Hi everyone, I'm a first time mom, 39 weeks +2 days! I want to hear about your labor stories. What happened before you went into labor? Did your water break, bad contractions, bad back pain etc? How long did the symptoms last before you actually went into the hospital? Did you do anything crazy or different that day to bring on labor? Tell me your stories! I'm sure other FTM would love to hear them as well!

I started to have contractions at 4am June 8th. Tried to go back to sleep but kept on waking to after each contraction. Woke up SO sometime after 6am as I was scheduled for an induction that morning. Called the hospital and told them I was on my way they told me to stay home as long as possible. 9am comes and contraction were coming every 5 min. Went to hospital and was 4cm dialated. Labored on my own without pain meds till I was 8cm and had my water broke by Dr. Took some gas and air to help with pain. When I was 10cm I started to push but baby wouldn't come down. I tried to push for 2 hours when the Dr recommended I get an epidural to give me and baby some time to rest. We waited an hour before trying to push again for another 2 hours and still baby wouldn't come down. Ended up having an emergency ceserean. Poor baby was stuck in my pelvis and couldn't come out. He was born at 12:41am June 9th 8lbs 2oz 21 inches.

A super strong contraction woke me up around 1 a.m  on Jan 2. I tried to go back to sleep, but I had some more contractions.  I got up around 2 and took a shower.  I started timing contractions around 2:30 and they were coming every 3-6 minutes.  I woke my husband up around 3:15 and we headed to the hospital. I was admitted,  but not dilating due to some scar tissue from a previous surgery. They administered pitocin,  hoping to make the contractions strong enough to break the scar tissue. I got an epidural around 10 and the doctor came in and broke the scar tissue.  I immediately dilated to a 7. She also broke my water and discovered our little guy had had a bowel movement.  My contractions were consistent and I was fully dilated for a while, but my boy wasn't moving down. After getting some sleep. They finally decided I should push, around 3:45 p.m. After only 9 rounds of pushing, our big guy was born at 4:15. He weighed in at 8lbs,  8oz and is 22 in. long. He is beautiful!

Was it very bad contractions where you couldn't talk or breathe? Did the pain come from your back or stomach area?

They were strong enough that they woke me up and it was very hard to get comfortable,  but I could still talk. My contractions were in my lower abdomen, not really in my back.

I was in "preterm labor" for a week with my first. Lots of false alarms! I carried her 1 week past her due date. I was just constantly having BH contractions. I went to the hospital to be induced and my water broke before they found me a room. Once my water broke, the labor kicked in full force. Super painful contractions for 9 hours and then pushed her almost 2 hours. I wasn't induced btw:)

Hi,
I had my baby girl 4 years ago. She was a full term and was born at 40 weeks and 2 days. At my 3ith andb3oth week check up I was told I wouldn't have ro go back to the clinic. I will go straight to the hospital but my princess wasn't ready. So the noght before my daughter was bornI went to bed around 10 pm. Woke up around 1 because of pain in the back and in my abdomen area. I knew those were conyractions because I had never felt that kind of pain ever before in my life. I woke up and went ro the family room. It was my first so I wanted to wait and time the contractions before going to the hospital. My husband was out of country and I was staying at my brother's place. I told him I am having contractions and we may have to go to the hospital soon so he decided to stay up with me. We finally went ro the hospital at 5 am in the morning. I was checked there and sent home because I wasn't in "labour". I was told it could take weeks because apparently i was walking and talking just fine and ofcourse the contractions were not atrong enough. I went back home aeound 8 am and the contractions started to get stronger. I had an appointment on the same day at 1 am so between 8 and 1 am, I was constantly walking b3cause I couldn't sit. Anyways, I went to my appointment, my midwife checked me and she said I was 4 cm dialated and I was in labour. Went to the birthing inn which was eight across the clinic. I asked for an epidural which was given to me at 4:30 pm. After that things got better for me. I was fully dialated by 7:30 pm and that is when I started pushing. I had a healthy baby girl at 8:32 pm. Best day of my life. Ohh and the doxtornhad to use the vaccum to get her out :(. She was 7 lb and 10 ounces chunky girl. Doxtor had to do the episiotomy focourse but I couldn't feel a thing( thanks to the epidural). It was a good day.

Ok so you had bad back pains and those were your contractions correct? That's what I was feeling a couple nights ago but they were 20-30 minutes apart and ended after 2 hours. Like severe back pain and stiff stomach?

My husband was due to go underway on my due date so I was trying to go into labor a few days early so he wouldn't go. I walked a lot and did acupuncture twice. I had my first contraction within 24 hours of the second acupuncture session. I had a whole lot of BH the day before I went into labor. When I had my first contractions we had just got in the car to go to dinner reservations. They were very very irregular all night. When we got back I went straight to bed. Woke up a few times with contractions woke up at 7 and started turning. (There are contraction timeing apps I highly recommend them because you can show the Dr your times when you get there.) My contractions were mostly 2- 2.5 minutes apart. Left for the hospital at 9 was 4 cm got admitted and had my son 6 hours later. The only sign I had was loosing mucus plug aa 3 or 4 days before and a great deal of BH. I kind of just had a feeling because I decided to put the car seat and hospital bag in the car before we left for dinner and had a contraction 20 min later.

That's amazing! I'm using a contraction counter now and lost my mucus plug last week! Lots of BH but nothing serious yet. Did you have a fast delivery or did it take a while?
