yeah they should know exactly what you're talking about.  I just looked at my can and it says on it "environmentally preferred zero VOC" in big letters.

I forgot that there are also some natural paints available that specifically say they are safe for pregnant women but I think they are a little harder to get depending on where you live.  But they are another option.

I painted with it when pregnant with my first and he his fine (of course this is just one baby).  I have read mixed things.  It is definitely way safer than painting with regular paint but I saw a point made that no paint company releases all their ingredients though so you still don't know everything in it.  I think its a judgement call.  If you are at all concerned let your sis do it since she offered.  Even if she does it I personally recommend no VOC paint because of the long term benefit of fewer fumes coming off your walls for years to come.

Oh and no VOC paints are an awesome choice for nursery.  I know you can get Olympic at Lowes and there are other no or low VOC brands just not sure the names.

There is an amazing paint by olympic that is no VOC.  VOC are the harmful chemicals in paint that can come off the walls for years after you paint.  No VOC paint is great because there are almost no fumes at all.   If you use a low or no VOC paint you should be fine e to paint it yourself if your using regular paint I would recommend letting your sister do it no use in taking chances.
