Laundry

Hi there! I am a first time mom so I have lots of questions :) this one is about laundry...I know you're supposed to wash the bedding and some blankets before the baby arrives but can someone help me out on what ALL I am supposed to wash before the baby comes? Is it literally everything? Every single blanket, changing pad covers, clothes, socks, etc? I have 2 months to go so want to start now if I can!
Thanks!!

I washed everything because if I was buying clothes, sheets, and blankets for myself I would wash them. You don't know who touched them or what was on them in the store or during manufacturing. I just use the same detergent that I use for everything else.

Anything that will come in direct contact with baby's skin. My son came four weeks early and we did not get everything washed in time - you could definitely tell the difference, as the clothes and blankets that hadn't been washed irritated his skin. We used dreft, but I've also heard good things about all free and clear.

With my first I didn't wash anything!!!  It's whatever you want to do and use what you want for detergent!

I washed everything changing pad cover, blankets, wash cloths, cloths for up to 1 year figure the rest I can get later, towels, boppy cover, sling, feeding cover. I washed everything so there is no  chance of him having an allergy or something on the stuff..

I've washed everything, (socks, bedding, towels, blankets etc). Just think that anything you have bought for baby could have fallen on the floor in the shop, been stepped on etc, they also have sensitive skin and it's just better to wash everything. I actually really enjoyed washing and ironing all of her stuff, made me feel like my countdown was coming to and end.
