Lcmv- freaking out!

Well. Whenever it rains a lot stupid wild mice come into the apt building. In the past month there had been TONS of rain, and ofc there was the mouse. However, this one didn't leave. We hear it at night and I've seen it. Today as I cleaned the kitchen I found the little monsters poop behind the microwave and toaster. Cleaned it up, washed up... And tonight when I heard it decided to try to catch it. Well, it was on the stove, and ran INTO the burner! Lifted them all up and there was TONS of poop! It's 3 am at this point, and I'm 8 1/2 weeks pregnant. Go online and hear about lcmv... That it is passed to fetuses and can cause retardation, blindness, etc. I am freaking out now, as I had no idea this was even a thing. Yes, I saw the 5% part, but omg we have been COOKING on the stove this whole time! What do I do?!?!?!?!

This is the first time in six years that a mouse has come in and hasn't left again. Ugh. We would love to move for numerous reasons but it's not even remotely feasible atm.

Put down some traps, there are lots to choose from. Check your boxed goods in the pantry. If no holes, transfer to a plastic sealed container. If holes, throw it out. Wash cans before you open them and dishes before you use them. If the traps don't solve it, ask your landlord to call an exterminator. You can find traps at just about any grocery store. Usually by household cleaning products.
