Medical Marijuana

I am prescribed medical marijuana, for a debilitating mental illness. But because it was illegal for so long there are not alot of studies to research and almost none about marijuana use during pregnancy... I assume it's safer then the adderal and Prozac that i am also prescribed, that the doctors believe to be safe. What should I do???  Doctors don't have a really good straight forward answer... I was told to see if i could function without my medications or wean off of them..but I just can't seem to function on a day to day basis without them...I feel I am to unstable without them, and am not willing to sacrifice my mental health...anyone use medical marijuana during pregnancy and have any reassurance out advice??? Please don't bash me! You don't know my story, and only God can judge!

I was desperate with my first. Already had lost 30lbs+ at one point, and dr didn't seem to care( I have so much animosity towards him still after 2 1/2yrs), and I was sicker then a dog 24/7 for my entire pregnancy. He said it was my diet. Really!! what an a-hole. I ate clean and nothing processed. Didn't matter cuz I wasn't able to keep it down. Not even water, but I was going to eat at least healthy. I was dead set against to pot/weed, but I had a friend who did use it. I did the research, before I made my decision. It is more natural then pills. I want to say I only did it maybe on 4 different occasions, and I actually had relief. I was still afraid just incase, but she was born small, but healthy at 6lbs 12oz and 19in. I'm sure she'd be a lot bigger if I wasn't so sick. She had some jaundice (which probably due to me being dehydrated), and 2 of her toes weren't completely separated. Now with this pregnancy I still lost 23lbs. so far. I have a different practice, and they gave me stuff that actually calmed the sickness for the most part, and baby is already measuring normal size. You need to do what you feel is right for you and your baby.

My sister smoked with all of her kids and they are fine.. It's always best not to, but if u have to then try to stick with natural papers and stay away from cigars if possible. Also, maybe try to cut the amount u smoke in half or try every other day. I know lots of children whose parents smoked while pregnant and they are all fine. You use ur judgement on the amount and make any sacrifices u can for ur baby.  That way you know you have done the best the that you can.

Seek the oil, and ask the place you go for a reference to someone who does bake goods. It's healthier

I was already thinking about ways to cook it into food tho I'm not sure what to use it in. Or even how it would blend with other ingredients...  i can't see me just eating it.

They only offer it in its true form at the dispensary I am registered...therefore I get prescription bottles of pre ground marijuana. I can choose the strain and the weight. Up to 2.5 ounces a month. That's alot. I don't use nearly that amount. .. maybe half an ounce a month.

If you can't stop due to your health (we definitely need a healthy mama when pregnant) I would suggest vaping or edibles as opposed to smoking it. From the limited research I have seen (mostly from Jamaica where it is legal) it's the smoke itself that is most harmful. Stop if you can but if you can't that's my suggestion. Also make sure your Dr is aware of it so if they do any drug tests on you or the baby they won't be surprised or look like you are hiding anything. Good luck

if it's medical grade, at least it is probably a strain lower in thc. also, because it's a script and legal where you live, there are plenty of edibles which are much better than smoking as it deprives oxygen from the baby. can't say I agree with it, but I don't know your case. I'm sure your doctor looked at risks versus benefits. just keep your dose to the minimum you need, and don't smoke to minimize any risks there may be

I did some research a while ago when i was in college of women who smoked durin pregnancy and mostly from jamaica and theres no proof that can cause harm to the baby but you just have to becareful smoking from paper etc. If i needed to i would i see marihuana as a natural herb to cure nothin wrong w that
