Membrane sweep help

I had a membrane sweep today, I'm 38+1, and had some light cramping and back ache and a little mucus plug. I walked for an hour and bounced on an excerise ball for an hour. I'm still achy, like period ache and that's it. I had it done 11 hours ago. Is this all I should feel or does it mean it didn't work?

Vaginal exams tell you nothing except what is going on that second. If your body(and baby) is not ready, nothing will work. Membrane sweeps are pretty dangerous. If baby is not ready and your OB accidentally broke your water, it could put you at risk for infection (yes, even if your dr wore gloves) and can put your baby at risk for a cord prolapse.

He didn't tell me where I was today which frustrates me some. But the last time he checked I was 1/2 cm and 50% effaced and that was a week ago. Still nothing. Just some achiness. Hopefully it works.. Trying not to get my hopes up.

They say it can take up to 48 hours for a sweep to work. Hang in there!!

I had a membrane sweep on all three of my kids and worked everytime. Rest and then in the morning go for another walk. It takes time. Good Luck.

Im in the same boat. Had a sweep today @ 11 am. No spotting or mucus plug but have had period like cramps and belly tightening. Def feel a change but not really labor. I also walked, bounced on a yoga ball, used my breast pump and took 2 tablespoons of caster oil. Hoping but not getting too excited :/
Btw I was 1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced when he checked me today.
