whooping cough injection

Just got my whooping cough injection today. My arm has started to feel really heavy and burning. Has anyone else had other symptoms?

I have had all my whopping cough vaccines after 28 weeks. Or right at 28 weeks, they do tend to cause tenderness and pain on the sight of which the vaccine was given. My arm also felt warm around that same area for about 1 or 2 days, It also felt heavy with soreness, but I only experienced that once. I never felt any burning sensation, thank God!! Lol! But the information given to me by my doctor says that it is a possibility.

How many weeks are you supposed to be to get the vaccine? My doctors office wanted to give it to me but I asked if we could wait until my next appt, they said that was fine but it hasnt been mentioned since and I keep forgetting to ask. Im currently almost 34 weeks

It is recommended that with EACH pregnancy you get one, in order to pass antibodies to baby. Even if pregnancies are back to back.

Do you need a repeat shot. I thought you only needed to get it once.

I get mine tomorrow but I also got one 3 years ago for nursing school and had a similar reaction. The vaccine has a tetanus component so redness, swelling, and tenderness are very common for the few days following injection.
