My Labor Story
Wednesday morning I was doing my thing, getting ready for the day. At 11:15am, while I was getting ready to take my shower, my water randomly broke (just walking down the hall to grab my stuff). I stayed at home for the majority of the day because I wanted to do my early labor at home. Well, I didn't have consistent contractions all day so I went into the hospital at 9:30pm to see how everything was going. I went into the whirlpool they had and soaked for about an hour. I lost my mucous plug shortly after and was feeling contractions about every 15-20 mins. By the time it was 1:30am, I decided to try to get some sleep. By 2:30am my contractions went to 4-6 mins. They checked my cervix at 4:30am (first check) and I was at 9.5 dilated. I couldn't believe it! We had to wait for my midwife to come and all I wanted to do was push. She finally got there, I pushed for 13 mins (which felt like 5 mins) and my baby was here! She was born at 5:43am. Her name is Lillyana Rae and she was 5lbs. 14oz. and 19in. long. I had her all natural (didn't even have an iv) I wanted a water birth but there was no time since they didn't expect me to be so far when they checked me. She is healthy and happy. :)
