My regular ob is on maternity leave so i will be seeeing a different ob till she gets back today was the first day with her. We spoke about when my c-section will take place to deliever my twin boys! She basically told me that i will more than likely have the c-section @36 weeks but since the babies r so small then it might be @34 weeks and that no matter which date my babies will go in the NICU till what was supposed to be my due date! Im super hurt and upset @the thought that my babies wont come home with us i wont leave the hospital with out them! But im confused since they are small why would they take them earlier???

That's great you are being followed so closely. They still have time to grow and as long as the u/s look good, keep them in. Definitely talk to the high risk doctor, they usually make the decision anyways. Good luck!!!!

My regular ob will be back the first week of march (ill be 36 weeks then) i try to relax and not do anything that would spark labor! Im a nanny (not a tough job) but im stopping that on the 31st just saw im not lifting anything!

How far along are you? Try to rest and relax, that's all I can do too. They may have a growth spurt. Even though my girl is still under 4lbs, she did gain 11oz in 2 weeks. Which is huge for her. Just keep praying. Will your OB be back soon? Maybe even ask for a second opinion. I had the scare with an early delivery too, but we have held out. Lots of prayers for you and your babies. We are lucky to have such great medical advances today.

I would be upset too and that doesn't make sense to take them earlier if they are small. Why not just leave them be until they are ready to make their appearance because if you carry them long enough for them to grow on their own...you have a better chance of taking them home with you. I have been ready for my baby boy to make his appearance and anxious to meet him...but at the same time do not want him stuck in the hospital when I go home so if he needs more time then so be it.

My baby has been below the 10th percentile since at least 33 weeks.  We have been diagnosed with IUGR. Pretty much the baby stops growing in the womb and needs to come out early to be nourished on the outside. IUGR can cause fetal distress, so I get a NST once a week and an u/s once a week. As long as everything looks OK we keep her in. I received steroid shots in the case of premature delivery. I'm currently 36 weeks, so we are extremely excited to make it to this point. Thursday is my next growth u/s so that will decide if I head to L&D or delivery or home for more rest. I will definitely not go past 38/39 weeks. I was very upset about not bringing my baby home too. I'm still at risk for that but not as high risk as I was at 33 weeks. Talk to your OB further about why you just have them so early and see if you can hold out maybe till 35/36 weeks. Also see if you can have a consult with the neonatologist, they can explain everything better than the OB. The babies do not necessarily gave to stay till your due date. I was told they must be able to suck and swallow, breath well, eat, maintain body temp and glucose levels, and pass car seat test. They told me the suck and swallow is the hardest thing for preemies. Gather as much info as possible, so you are prepared. The most important thing is that you and your babies get the best care possible.
