Please help Baby/fetus has extra fluid on back of neck!!!

I am 12 weeks now, yesterday I went in for my Ultrascreen and they found baby has Increased Nuchal Translucency( extra fluid back of neck). They found 3mm of liquid, the Genetic counselor said anything under 3 mm is normal and 3mm and up is concern baby with chromosome problem or birth defect. Please help, Can anyone please share their story if you have went through this before and what happened?

Another test to look into is Panorama. Similar to Harmony. I'll be getting that done beginning of April!

My son's nuchal fold was measured at 3mm. So not over what they expect but on the high side. The harmony test is a non invasive test. Blood is taken and they look at bubs dna. When i had my son the blood was sent to America to be analyzed  (I'm in Australia). But they do it here now.

Glad to hear your blood results came back all clear. I was in the same situation with my first Son. With bloods and his nuchal fold we were given a 1 in 21 chance for down syndrome. Did the harmony test and results came back all low risk. Bub was born healthy and is now 21 months old. I am pregnant with my 2nd and decided to go straight for the Harmony instead of doing ultrasound and bloods at 12 weeks. Wishing you an easy pregnancy.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. If you don't mind, can you tell me what did the doc find for your son? How much Nuchal translucency did they find for him? I did not know about the Harmony test... what does that include?
And the genetic counselor keep on offering me the diagnostic testing, which has 1/500 chance of miscarriage. And I don't completely feel ok doing that.
Any information will be helpful. Thank You

I wouldn't worry too much about 3mm result. I've heard of women who's NT measured at 6mm + but all tests and other ultrasound came back normal, and they have healthy children.
Your Dr./midwife will probably do my U/S and tests over the next few weeks to confirm or deny any defects. Just try to breathe and relax for now

Thank you very much for your kind comment. Yes the doctors did blood tests and it came back normal. I have also done my research and all mothers who went through similar situation said the same most times ultrasound results come out false positive. I will have to wait for my 16 week ultrasound to get further info on the baby's situation. Praying for the best!
