I'm 34 wks w identical twin boys, and went to the hospital last week's for preterm labor..my labor stopped when I got to 5cm but my doctor thinks they'll be here within the next week.Has anyone else had a preemie at 34 wks..if so how long was the nicu stay

It will depend on their weight and developmental status. My coworker had her twin girls at 36 weeks, both were just under 5lbs and she went home after 4 days total. But then you can have a baby at 39 weeks and need nicu for a week or more. It really depends on the babies. Wish you the best!!

I have heard until they hit 5 lbs for a nicu stay on a premie, and they of course have to be breathing and eating on their own.

I dont believe the above is true either as long as they weigh a certain weight and are breathing and are eating on their own they can leave. Best of luck !!

I had my son at exactly 35 weeks. He was 3.7lbs w iugr but he didnt need a nicu thankfully. But I'm sure it's.slightly different with twins. Nicu or not I hope you  have a smooth and healthy delivery and your babies get to go home fast!!! :-)

I do not know first hand, but I heard they keep the little ones in the NICU until your original EDD
