I have been taking generic Costco (Kirkland) brand prenatal vitamins since I found out I was pregnant and I'm now almost 40 weeks. My doctor was more than okay with me taking these ones.
I'm not sure how they compare, but I've taken the cvs off brand combo with dha. Usually CVS has buy one get one free. Anyways, all my tests have been great, so I'm assuming they're working well. I think it's more common to do the OTC vs prescribed.
I take nature made my doctor was fine with that...
Take over the counter ones until your first Dr. Appointment and then see what your Dr. says. Like everyone else said they are basically the same. I would make sure they have DHA in them as well. Prescription ones have always been cheaper for me than otc ones. I'm not sure where you live, I live in the midwest and there is a store called Meijer that gives everyone free prenatals but you might have to have your Dr. call in a prescription for them though.
Theyre the same basically. Just get a good brand that has everythjng for pregnancy including folic acid. I also take additional vitamkn D3 supplemnt because most prenatals dont have enough vitamin D in them for our needs. Take care.
Ive been using the Santogen pre-natal vitamins as they also have vitamin D, they are good for after brith and breast feeding, talk to your midwife but the over the counter ones are the same as the pescription ones (and cheaper!)
