Progesterone???

I wanted to get other opinions on this... I saw the doctor today and he just took my urine again and listened for baby on the doppler. He found a heart beat. He said since I have miscarried before (3 years ago) that I should start progesterone pills every night. Once I start them, I can't stop taking them until 35 weeks. He said it won't hurt anything but help IF my levels are low and he won't know if my levels are low until my next appt which is 2 weeks from today. So he wants me to start them "just in case". But once I start I can't stop them. Do you think I need them?!? I can't find too much info on it and I don't know what to think. I will be 10 weeks tomorrow.

Thank everyone. The reason I was hesitant was because he told me once I started them I had to stay on them until 35 weeks and it would be bad if I missed a pill. Just nervous I guess.

I was on progesterone from 4-15weeks this pregnancy. And I was very grateful that my dr was willing to perscribe them. I had two previous miscarriages, and even though my progesterone levels were horrible for the second pregnancy (and it was already known that they were bad for the first) my previous ob refused to perscribe progesterone to me. Even though it wouldnt have hurt... i still wonder if I would have my baby girl with me today if I hadnt been denied the medication.

Is there some reason you don't want to take progesterone pills?

I was put on progesterone at 7 weeks because before this pregnancy, i miscarried. Do my doctor put me on them just in case. She rechecked my levels at 10 weeks and told me they were high enough and i could stop taking them. They made me so sick! Usually your doctor keeps you on them until Terr first trimester is over... Not sure why he wants you on them until 35 weeks. Seems a but excessive to me..
