Protein in urine

I am 27 weeks pregnant with my third child. I had to have a urinalysis done yesterday and it showed that I have high levels of protein in my urine. I don't see my doctor for two weeks. My pregnancy so far has been pretty smooth.  I have pcos and have had a cyst but that's it. Has anyone ever had high protein in your urine and if so what was the outcome?

Protein in your urine can be a sign of preeclampsia, I had that with my first son.  But there are other symptoms that go along with it.  If you are worried call the Dr and talk to them, being worried and freaked out just makes pregnancy harder.  Besides, answering your questions is part of their job.  ;-)

I had high protein 2 weeks ago. Tested again this week and it was normal. Most women test high at some point in pregnancy, doesn't mean anything unless you get more than one in a row. I hadn't eaten much 2 weeks ago, that was probably the reason it was high for me. Dehydration can be another reason. Odds are you have nothing to worry about, just take it as it comes. Good luck, and congrats on the baby!
