Safe medications?

I'm 33 and prego for the 1st time.  I'm 5 weeks along and so terrified of doing something wrong.  I suffer from migraines several times a month, and normally take Excedrin Migraine daily. (Although stopped this week when I found out I was pregnant.) My hubby thinks I'm going over the edge because I refuse to drink the diet ginger ale we just stocked up on, but at least understands the no lunch meat thing. I won't have a doctor for a month, and wondering if it's safe to start prenatal vitamins now. Also wondering about the best remedy for the headaches.

They say not to drink diet because of the sugar substitute. They dont know if its bad because no studies have ever been done on it. My dr said it was okay in small amounts, I chose to just use regular sugar instead. About the migraine thing idk cuz i dont get them

I too suffer from migraines but im too paranoid to take anything. I bought peppermint oil and rubb it on my forehead and under my nostrils the mint smell calms the headache and I make homeade ginger tea which helps with the vomitting u sometines get. Im not knockin meds but I would save it for when you REALLY cant deal

I didn't get migraines until I was pregnant and my doctor prescribed me reglan. It also helped a touch with morning sickness. The ginger ale would be fine. I have been drinking ginger ale during my entire pregnancy because the ginger part helps calm my stomach. When it comes to prenatals, the 1st trimester is SO important so start those right away! For headaches, you can take regular tylenol. Each doctor is going to possibly have slightly different opinions based on how conservative they are. There are lists available online for safe OTC meds. Your first appointment you should also ask for a list from your doctor that they can give you as a reference. It is helpful.  If you get your migraines and can't kick it, go into the ER. They can help. That's what I had to do. Good luck!!!!

I too suffer from terrible migraines and tylenol just doesn't do it. My obgyn and regular doctor approved that I could take fluxetine. I get migraines two or three times a week. Without these meds I wouldn't be able to function

My dr has said only Tylenol extra strength only for my migraines and i would just make sure to take a daily vitamin for now until you see your dr
