She's here!!!! Birth story :)
I felt my first contraction the 27th morning!!! All that day they became more painful, more regular and longer in duration. No biggie, I was happy I felt them and the pain wasn't so bad. That night the pain started getting worse, It would stop me dead in my tracks and take my breath away. Still manageable, so I thought I'd get some sleep that night before the "big day". Well that didn't happen at all!!! Laying down made the pain 10x worse! By the next morning I was in agonizing pain and had slept all of 10min. I went to the hospital with hubby and was 4cm dilated. I didn't want an epidural so I quickly dilated to 6cm. This is when I hit my wits end, not because of the contractions, though they were painful I felt like I could have managed them...it was the nausea and vomiting along with the pain I couldn't handle! I eventually got an epidural and PRAISE God for it!
Labor stopped progressing before the epidural and stayed latent afterwards. They stared some pitocin on me and within 3 hours I was 10cm dilated. I pushed for an hour and 2 minutes and my baby girl Corryn came out sunny side up! Apparently they want them face down. I tore down stairs but they still needed to do a stage 3 episiotomy because baby wouldn't pass through the opening! By 11:15 Sunday night baby Corryn was born. My husband and I cried and are so in love!!!!! I can't describe the feeling you get to see Gods creation, formed in seclusion being revealed to the world!
Total I was in "labor" for 40 hours. But I was in active labor for 14 hours. For a ftm I as told that was pretty good!
