All I have to say is genius!!
Thanks for the input, ladies. I'm glad to hear that other women have thought of this too. My husband hates sleeping on a mattress pad, so I took a waterproof crib mattress pad and put it under the fitted sheet on my side of the bed. Hopefully, that will provide sufficient protection!
We already have a fitted protectabed towelling water proof cover under our sheets anyway cause we have young kids that sometimes like to jump in our bed during the night...just saves the day and our $3500 mattress just in case they have an accident. Not a silly idea and these protectors are an awesome investment at not much cost compared to a new mattress..we also have them on all the kids beds too.
I plan on getting one:) also I'm sure the baby will be snoozin with us for awhile so it can't hurt if she pukes or messes the bed. Im also due in august and not sure if I'll be a sweaty mess so im preparing my awesome bed for the worst.
My waters broke while i was in bed, was so glad i put a protector down. I also had one in my car, just incase they went while i was driving lol. Im actually going to buy mine today x
Not silly at all! I was going to put mine on my bed tonight. My Aunt's water broke and gushed out in the middle of the night wheb she was asleep. Lucky she had put one on her bed. Mine broke at 5am for my last child when I got up to pee in the morning, so it very well could have broken while I was laying in bed.
I put towels under my sheets.
Not silly, ive thought about it too
We have one of those on our bed all the time because we have pets. Works like a charm, and I never thought about pregnancy benefits lol
I have been wondering about doing this as well! My water didnt break with my first until they broke it at 8 cms but i am still terrified this time it will happen at work or the grocery store. i am thinking about using a cheap shower curtain under my matress protector (not waterproof)
We actually put down plastic under the mattress pad and sheet as my husband was worried my water would break and I would ruin our mattress. So no not silly. You never know when it will break. I can say I don't enjoy the slight crinkle noise but at least I know if mine does break while sleeping our memory foam mattress will be safe :)
