So...I'm a little freaked

My doctor called to tell me I had my pap come back abnormal. She said not to worry, but that I will need to have another doctor talk to me and explain things. It did come back that I have a yeast infection, and she said that could be causing the abnormal cells...

Someone ease my mind! I'm trying not to stress, but this has never happened to me before.

I also had an abnormal pap with this pregnancy. Mine was hpv high risk. So doc took a piece of my cervix to check for cancer cells but lucikly there wasnt any. My doc told me that pregnancy and hormones sometimes cause an abnormal pap. He will test me again once I have my son..dont worry girl..it sounds alot worse than what it really is..ull be juuuust fine!

I've had 2 false alarms with an abnormal pap. They were done by 2 different drs using 2 different labs. So I have come to the conclusion that it happens more often than they say. ;) I will keep you in my thoughts. Keep us posted.

I had an abnormal pap this past June. Its honestly nothing to worry about! I freaked out and did research and worried myself to death...trust me its not worth it. They'll probably want to do some more tests to make sure its not cancer (which is like a slim 1% chance). My doc went ahead and did a coloscopy, which is basically where they go in with this little pincher tool and take some pieces of your cervix to test them. While it wasnt the most pleasant procedure, everything came back fine. You also have the benefit of having a yeast infection...I didn't. Trust in your doc and ask more questions until you're comfortable. Its extremely unlikely that you'll get bad results. :)
