Spotting Update

I finally got in to see my doctor yesterday because I was still freaking out about the spotting. She did a blood draw to test hcg levels. Then she did an exam. The whole time she's telling me this the time of a pregnancy that will determine whether or not you continue to carry. She continued to reassure that it's nothing I've done wrong. As we waited for the test results she explained that if my levels were high enough she would have me go down to imaging for an ultrasound, and of not I would repeat the blood test in two days. My results came back. They were at 1619, but that wasn't high enough to do an ultrasound. My question is why not? And is there something off about my levels? Anyone know?

I will be going in tomorrow to have the test ran again. She said if it doubles than I'm fine. If not she said it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad, but she would have to monitor me more closely. I'm so worried.

Did they redo the test to see if your numbers are doubling?

Rule of thumb is that your hcg level needs to be 10,000 mcg before the baby can be seen.  7,000 before the yolk sac can be seen.  It varies with everyone I guess but that is what I have been told and read.  How far along are you?  I was 6w4d when I saw my baby and the heartbeat which means my hcg levels were advice 10,000.  Hope everything turns out okay sweetie.
