Surgery

Have any of you ladies had to get the cerclage done?? If so what was it like and what can I expect?

Thanks ladies I have to get mine at 14 weeks I'm only 10 now so I'm just trying to get as much information about it as I can

How far along are you?  I had one at week 20 and the earlier you have it done the less risk there is. I say the procedure is relatively painless just uncomfortable. I have had some discomfort since especially with more transvaginal ultrasounds to keep monitoring the cervix. The stitching itself has proven to be successful for me though. I am currently at week 27+5 and my measurements are holding pretty strong for me at 2.5 (they were 1.4 when I got mine). My doctor seems to think we will make it to our week 32 goal

yes they will give u med. in it Spine to lose feeling from hip to feet and they will perform surgery threw ur vagina. you will b totally aware of everything going on. no pain during surgery some cramping afterwards. and don't worry they will watch the baby by ultrasound the whole time
