My doctor said nipple stimulation was not a good method to induce labor. She said it only causes very long painful contractions without dilation

I'm married & had sex through pregnancy but my cervix didn't thin out, I didn't dilate, & ended up with a c section.

This statement may be partially based on having strong pelvic floor muscles. While it can help it's not the only method. Doing kegel exercises is a better method and you can do them at any time!

Here are some of the most common methods women try to induce labor naturally

Sexual intercourse - This works in two ways to induce labor. First, female orgasm can bring on contractions. Second, semen contains prostaglandins. Prostaglandins work to help ripe and soften the cervix.

Nipple stimulation - Stimulating the nipples triggers the production of natural oxytocin. Oxytocin contracts the uterus.

Accupressure - Accupressure may be helpful in inducing labor. Some pressure points you can try are the roof of your mouth, the webbing of your fingers between your pointer finger and thumb, and above the ankle about four fingerspaces above is a pressure point.

I think the idea behind that is that orgasm causes contractions, and frequent but non-dilating contractions can help tone the uterus.

The seamen just help to open the cervix. Something in it helps. Google it! I'm due in 6 weeks and we've been making sure to have sex to hopefully make this labor quicker because with my firs title took forever for my cervix to open
