Well if it is than I am in a big trouble. I mean there is a risk but I havent had any problems.
Honestly it is EXTREMELY rare for there to be listeria on the lunch meat in fact there's a 1 in 400,000 chance and thsts on the lower side there's probably even less of a chance. I eat subway on occasion I just limit it. My mother in law and mom think its absolutely ridiculous and they go on with how they ate sandwichs so much with all seven of there kids! Personally I would eat it! But its up to you (:
If it's fresh from the deli there is little chance of it being contaminated. If it were me I'd eat it, lol, but whatever you're comfortable doing!
My whole first trip all I was able to ear was turkey sandwichs and I never heated it up.....
^^^^ tri not trip lol stupid t9
Thanks ladies .I actually have always thought it was ridiculous too until I joined this app actually and there was a big debate about it. Plus listeria can be in anything, hummus cups were just recalled in my area for listeria contamination :\ I'm going to get to slicing avocados and tomatoes right now and I'm stoked.
I am with you, I have been fighting the urge to order a turkey wrap at a couple restaurants. But at the restaurant i really don't know how fresh or old their turkey is. Turkey is my favorite! And even though my mom basically had an Italian cold cut sub everyday with me, I have been avoiding it for fear of the bacteria. Since it can accept the baby without me feeling anything, I just told my hubby the very first thing I want after delivery is a turkey sub from my favorite deli :)
My Dr told me as long as I do it very rarely, like onve or twice a month at most, then me and baby will be healthy :)
Yea. I don't know if I would trust a restaurant. Subway maybe which I have ate alotbif while pregnant but always toasted. But the deli we get our lunch meat from is trusted I think as far as prep and safety handeling.
FTI- my sandwich was BOMB, the sourdough was freaking delish a s soft with a crunchy crust and myveggies were operfect. Im trying to waych y carbs so I only had a half with some melon but I'm tempted to have another half. @ Ireloc. Do yourself a favor and go get your wrap fixings and make yourself one. !!!
I think as long as you don't have 2 a day you should be fine...my 1st and 2nd trimester I didn't eat any lunch meat of any kind. I just recently have been able to eat chicken so it was pretty rough...especially the 2nd trimester when I could actually eat and not get sick after! My Dr agreed with the above comment...afters long as u limit your intake of it and know the rep of the place u r getting it from you will be fine.
As far as our mothers go...it was a whole different ball game back then. I'm 34 and my mom never even had an ultra sound with me or my older brother. Now they are saying too many U.S. aren't good for babies either! I remember growing up having to watch my family Butcher chickens...i couldn't ever bring myself to help...and that was the chicken we ate. Same with beef and pork. My point is that was knew what they were fed and if any of them had issues. Look at KFC now! They had to take the word chicken off of all of their menus bc it's all processes crap! I think we all need to go back to how it used to be so we know what the heck we r eating. Just my personal thought on this last bit.
I'm glad u got to enjoy ur sandwich! I am need to go to the deli tomorrow now. ;)
