I focused on the nurses that were counting everything to make sure nothing was left behind because I was bored during it. Also, you don't feel pain but you feel the pushing and pulling. It's the weirdest sensation. I only took pain pills as needed once I was out of the hospital, but I do have a fairly high pain tolerance. Definitely get moving but don't overdo it. Oh, if they offer to leave the catheter in overnight, do it. Then you don't have to worry about getting to the bathroom that first night. I wasn't producing enough urine so they left mine in.
I was looking at the src recovery shorts. But I really dont mind as long as my split tummy muscles say hello to each other again. Mm Thomas did u have that prob and did the binder help? Im all for the pain meds, just weary of how much veg I'll have to eat to go to the bathroom the first time after, as even paracetamol clogs me up. Surfboards on the scar- check. I actually have mesh knickers anyway, hubby loves lace n I struggle with it itching so I have somewhat sexy mesh ones anyways. Will remember to pack those. Anything doc wise or that midwives did or said that u werent prepared for?
I found that my 2nd csection was much easier than my first. I believe mainly because I didn't have 35hrs of back labor to recover from on top of the csection. Getting up and moving works wonders. Not only for physical healing but for mental healing as well. I agree take the pain medication on time at least to begin with. I was given an abdominal binder by the hospital and it was a life saver. Also use sanitary napkins on the incision to help keep clothes from rubbing on it. I am having my 3rd section in May and will bring a dress to wear home for comfort. And I loved the hospital provided mesh underwear. It's comfy, breathes so you don't feel sweaty and sticky and you don't risk ruining your own panties. Hope this helps!
Get an abdominal binder. It like a Velcro corset that goes around your belly.it helped me alot with the pain. They have them in the hospital. Also take your medicine on time even if you're not in that much pain take it, atleast in the very beginning. Once it wears off and you are up and down with the baby all the time, its painful. Another tip keep your incision dry and let air dry when you can.
