Thanks everyone for your comments. Well I don't take eggs. Completely vegetarian :) I take all milk products, veggies.. Fruits .. Lentils .. Etc .. :) But non of it has Vit D..  I haven't started with any supplement  yet although when I asked my Dr.. she said I can take Vit D supplements twice a week .. I have also started going in the sun for atleast 15-20 mins. Hope that helps.

go to see nutritious.Vitamins are crucial for a baby.  Whereas I am pretty sure your body would not be happy if you are vegan and would start eating food you haven't eaten for years consider going to nutritionist that would guide you through your pregnancy.

20 minutes of sun time,  and increase vitamin d in your diet is going to be the easiest way to fix that. Supplements can definitely help, but as someone who has low vitamin b and iron I promise you'll get sick of taking pills in addition to prenatals really quickly.

I would not take extra vitamin d besides what is in your prenatal unless your Dr suggests it. You can overdose on vitamin d because it is fast soluble and it can hurt the baby if your levels get too high.

Did your doctor talk to you about how to increase your vitamin D?

Are you a vegan - that is,  no eggs?  Eggs are high in Vitamin D.  Commercially produced orange juice also often has added D.

Can you take a Vitamin D supplement?

Many people are low in vitamin D because they use sunscreen.  We've been taught for years that you have to have sunscreen when you go out in the sun,  but that protects your skin from producing vitamin d.  Can you go out in the sun without sunscreen for 20 minutes or so a day?
