I'm a nurse and it's not a big deal. A lot of women get it, there are 100s of strands of it. Most women's bodies heal themselves from it. Just follow what the doctors say and you will be fine :)

I found out I had it years ago... I freaked out... until I worked for a gyne.. then I found out how common it really is and I dont stress as much... the only thing u have to worry about is if u have the symptoms (warts) near ur vaginal area and then the chances with normal birth is higher to give it to ur baby... if u have the warts tell ur obgyn about them and then u might have to consider a c/s ... but if nothing then theres realy not much to worry about.. strongs and dont stress to much about it... it will come and go fot many years just go for the regular pap smears that can tell u if its getting worse or not... mine always say I have cin1 but NEVER escalated to cin2...

Hey at least it's not AIDS ...ah me and my inappropriate humor... but those dumb women bickering about the misuse of a word...they need a life...I'm sure your obgyn or midwife discussed your treatment right? If not, then ask them...there may even be a support group on this app somewhere for it if uuuuu feel alone. I'm assure you it's common.

I have had HPV for 8 years now. It's so common. My Dr told me when I tested it positive for it that most people have it or will get it unless your a nun (abstinent) it is scary but not that big of deal either. Just Make Sure To Have Your Pap Done As You Should And You Will Be Fine

I have it and have had it for 5 years now. Its nothing that's going to harm your baby. It may cause you to have abnormal paps. Before I got pregnant I had to have a pap every 6 months because they keep coming back abnormal. It can turn into cancer but it's rear.

People can go a long time without ever knowing they have it and even after finding out, will never see symptoms.
My boyfriend (baby's dad) thinks it's possible he could have given it to me because it's undetectable in men but he knows his ex-wife has it. The thought of it bothers me but I don't dwell on it and it doesn't devastate me. I got myself tested earlier this week. I'm waiting for the results.

I also have HPV and I've  looked for sooo much information because I was very afraid. HPV is the most common sexually transmitted  infection and most sexually active people will get it throughout  their lives without even noticing. So don't  stress out, look for information, it will reassure you, and most importantly, talk to your Dr about your worries! It will likely cure by itself and you'll  be just fine! Good luck!

Yes it is an std.... it's the most common std actually. I don't know where you heard that but it is indeed an std. There are several strains of it and they have varying degrees. Some, you get external symptoms, others, you're asymptomatic but can pass the strain to others.
