Weight Gain issues

I'm 7 months pregnant and I'm having issues with gaining the weight that I should be gaining. Any suggestions on what I need to do to gain weight and to maintain it?

sounds like you are doing just fine, doctors standard aren't individually based and is only a guideline,  as I've gone backwards lost ten in first four months, only now at 37/38w gaining the 15/20, don't you worry baby will take when it's ready, make sure to concentrate on nutrition factor more than weight gain,

I had the same issue I had only gained 3lbs until my 20th week. My doc recommended I drink smoothies(which include fruit, milk and yogurt) with my meals and nuts for snacks. I'm currently 23w and I've now gained 9lbs total which is normal. Maybe that can help u too.

What do you mean? Have you not gained any weight at all?

With  my first I only gained 28lb the entire 40 weeks... and about half of that was the last trimester.  And I had a very healthy baby she was almost 11lb.

If you're concerened maybe try protein shakes (they make pregnancy safe protein powders) and maybe add in some snacks in your day that you eat even if you aren't hungry. I'm in my last 6 weeks with my second and I'm forcing myself to eat most days.

Also talk to your Dr. if they aren't concerened they will let you know. And if hey are they will have suggestions to help.

Don't stress though, the amount you need to gain is based off your starting body mass ratio, some women need to gain 35-45 while others only 15-20lb.

Thank you. I've only 7 pounds and that was when I was 5 going into 6 months and since I haven't gained any weight at all. I will try the protein powders and things like that to see if that would help. My doctors wants to gain at least 25 within the couple months that I'm pregnant.

I'm 26 weeks and have gained 4 lbs. With my first pregnancy I gained 50 lbs by 40 weeks. I'd rather be gaining slowly than gaining a bunch of weight quickly.

I'll be 37 weeks in two days and I've only gained 10 pounds. Unless your starting weight is low, I wouldn't worry about it. Did your midwife or ob tell you that you needed to worry about it. Otherwise, just be happy. The healthier you are at the end, the easier birth will be.

I'm 25 weeks allow and only gained 7 lbs and that was in the last two Doctor visits! My doctor isn't worried! With my first I gained 50lbs and had a 7 lb baby! This time baby was measuring bigger at ultrasound than my first! Hope this helps.

If not then try to eat opposite of what your used to, I have a high metabolism so for me to gain I used to have to eat alot of protein (I'm a carb junky) Hope this helps!!

I didn't gain any weight until the middle of the second trimester and then I gained 25. The last month of pregnancy I lost 10 lbs. I have a very healthy baby boy.
