My morning sickness was so bad at one stage I was given doxylamine to pretty much sedate me.
I only took it at night and I took zofran during the day and sometimes it helped other times I would just stay next to the toilet. It is an over the counter medication if you want to try it and it is category A during pregnancy so it is completely safe
some stores like walgreens carry them, or you can google them & order them.. I've seen a couple websites pop up that sell them, but you should be able to find them at your local drugstores or walmart.
Where can you get peggi pops? I am having horrible all s at sickness myself. Same way with my first.
I completely understand, as long as you're staying hydrated that's good, but eventually you'll need nourishment from food.. I'll keep you in my prayers!!! ((:
I didn't have this with my son who is 4. I'm trying my best to keep as much down as I can. So far water is my friend, food on the other hand is a Different story
btw, yes.. it's a part of pregnancy, but that doesn't mean you have to suffer. I'd take a pill and sleep before I get dehydrated and suffer even more problems..
I'm currently taking Promethazine & it works great.. if I don't want to fall asleep I only take half, but if the nausea is horrible I just tough it out until bedtime and take a whole one.
I don't take them everyday.. I've had them since friday & only taken 2 or 3.. they're not addicting, but anybody can abuse any "drug".. luckily I'm 10w5d & the nausea is wearing away.. but from 6 weeks to 10 weeks ir was torture! wish I would've had something sooner! good luck!! ((:
So far I've keep some water down and had a peppermint has helped some
I tried b6, zofran, peppermints, pretty much everything. Nothing worked. I lost quite a bit of weight my first three months. But, gained it all back and baby is healthy. Puking all day every day really *****, I hope you get past it quickly.
I was told taking B6 helps. I'm not sure if it works. I'm going to buy some today.
I don't have time to sleep. I have a 4,7,and 10 year old.I think I'm just going to try the preggie pops and peppermint or mentos
I was thinking the same thing heather. I had hg with my first and for the last 4 months with this one. Nothing worked until I doubled/tripled up on medicine. My first came out healthier than ever despite the medicines so dont let that scared you and I expect the same with this one. I would say try everything before the medicines but dont feel bad if you have to. Just sucking it up and going through the motions is not an options for everyone. Do what's best for you and your baby.. Do what helps you not get dehydrated and what keeps you away from the hospital for fluids. :-)
It sounds like you don't just have morning sickness, which you can "tough out", it sounds like hyperemesis, like I had. NOTHING - not preggi pops, ginger anything, soda, ice water, nothing worked. The only thing that kept my puking to only 2-3x a day was takingReglan and Zofran together. It was still really hard to eat, but it helped.
I might try the preggie pops before I get the phenergan. Thanks everyone
They have the phenegran pills and suppositories. They pills hurt my stomach so I used the supp. Either way they do make you sleepy.
Dill Pickles, Preggie pops
Be careful too if you have an addictive personality. You can't get addicted to that med but a lot of women keep taking it bc they like the sleep and not puking. In 4 months I've only had to take mine twice because I couldn't even hold down water and they also gave me some when I was in the hospital after getting the flu shot. I know morning sickness is a pain and you hate it but it really is best to try and tough it out. Everybody has to. It's part of pregnancy. Too much of anything can eventually cause harm to your baby so take it easy. :)
Its a struggle so I just deal with it ugh.. gd luck..
Ok thanks I will call my Dr and ask
Yes they can give you the pill. The preacription they give out will have the name Promethazine on the bottle and they give you 25 mg pills. It'll make you sleepy though so be careful.
I had the phenergan that you rub on your wrist and it didn't work. Can they give the pill for while pregnant?
Maybe ask fir a different medicine? I used Phenargan when morning sickness was bad for me and it worked great. Only problem is that it makes you realllyyy sleepy
